Frequently Asked Questions (FAQ) regarding Online Premium Payment

You can pay your premium online either via Online Payment Portal or Customer Service App available on Android & iOS.

a. Online Payment Portal

  • Enter your Policy number and Date of Birth in AD (English)
  • Choose your preferred wallet for example, eSewa, Connect IPS, Fonepay, Khalti etc.
  • You will be redirected to preferred wallet website where you can login with your wallet credentials.
  • After payment is processed, you can either print the premium receipt or download the same for future purpose. If you had entered your email address in the Online Payment Portal, the receipt would be sent to your email address directly. Please note that this is an official receipt and does not require any signature.

b. Customer Service App on Android & iOS
On your App home screen, you can directly tap on “Support” and choose “I want to pay premium online”. You would be redirected to Online Payment Portal where you can continue the steps listed in (a).

We would prefer our customer to log into Online Payment Portal and choose the relevant Online Gateway or Wallet to pay the premium. The payment via Online Payment Portal allows you to:

  • Download or forward the Premium Receipt directly to your email address.
  • Relieves you from paying additional charges to Payment Gateway.
  • Relieves you from process of sharing payment confirmation to MetLife Nepal.

Please download our Customer Service App on Android or iOS in easy steps and check your premium amount and due date. Please follow the steps mentioned below to view the payable premium:

a. Log into Customer Service App on Android & iOS using Contact Number and Password.

b. You can opt for either of two options:

  • Go to ‘My Policies’ and tap ‘view’ next to policy number. The Modal Premium is amount that is due.
  • Or you can also view the premium due notification on the Customer App dashboard.

As soon as you pay, you can either print or download the premium receipt for future purpose. If you had entered your email address in the Online Payment Portal, the receipt would be sent directly to your email address.

Your premium payment transaction will take a maximum of 24 hours to get updated in the system. However, your premium payment date will be same date when you paid your premium online. You will receive a message alert as soon as premium gets updated in our system.

In case you do not receive SMS alert for premium update, you can contact us via email at service-nepal@metlife.com.np or call us at 01- 5970166.

The policy lapses and needs to be reactivated or reinstated depending on the following situation if renewal premium is not paid by the due date:

a. For Ordinary Life policies:

  • If you have paid premium for less than 2 years, the policy lapses after 31 days from due date. Coverage would not be provided from 31days until the payment is done. Such lapsed policies need reactivation / reinstatement. For reinstatement of lapsed policies, please refer to Question No. (7) below.
  • If you have paid premium for more than 2 years, the policy will remain in force until 90 days. After a free period of 90 days the policy may remain in force based on the selected or default NFO (Non-Forfeiture Options). In such cases, coverage would be available even for payments made after 90 days for such policies.

b. For Life Care & Life Shield policies, the policies lapse after grace period of 31 days from due date. In such cases, no coverage would be provided for the payments made after 31 days. Such lapsed policies need reactivation / reinstatement. For reinstatement of lapsed policies, please refer to Question No. (7) below.

c. For Universal Life policies, the account value generated on each policy will keep the status of the policy in force along with coverage until the account value is nil.

For further inquiries feel free to contact us via email at service-nepal@metlife.com.np or call us at 01- 5970166.
